They will understand program design, SMART objectives, indicators, data collection methods, data analysis and preparation of final evaluation reports.

1. 01Foundations of Monitoring & Evaluation−

   Understand what M&E is and why it matters in project success.

   • Introduction to Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)
   • Project results chain (Inputs → Outputs → Outcomes → Impact)
   • Difference between monitoring and evaluation
   • Principles of Results-Based Management (RBM)
   • M&E in the Afghan development context
2. 02Designing M&E Frameworks+

   Design an M&E system linked to project goals.

   • Developing SMART indicators
   • Setting baselines and targets
   • Building an M&E framework / logframe
   • Introduction to Theory of Change (ToC)
   • Identifying data sources and means of verification
3. 03Data Collection and Management+

   Collect quality data effectively and ethically.

   • Quantitative and qualitative methods
   • Tools: Surveys, FGDs, Key Informant Interviews, observation
   • Sampling basics and data quality assurance
   • Data management and storage (Excel, KoboToolbox overview)
4. 04Data Analysis, Interpretation, and Reporting+
